Jeri Kehn Thompson blowup!

Given that this has even made the NY Times, we here at BBB thought it was time to weigh in.

Apparently several blogs have recently attacked Fred Thompson's choice in a wife. The lovely Jeri Kehn Thompson was really ripped apart by NewsHoggers, who went so far as to liken the Thompsons to a husband/daughter couple, call her a "Trophy Wife", and note that had they met a few years earlier Thompson would have been a sex offender.

Even though NewsHoggers later withdrew several of the comments, arguing that they "misread her age" and "didn't know what a 'trophy wife'" was, we're not buying it. When bloggers go bad, we're here to cover it, and knocking a candidate for having a hot wife is pretty bad. At BBB, we applaud the practice.

Also Behaving Badly: Magery Eagan of the Boston Tabloid Herald and Josh Marshall are also fairly disgusting on the whole topic.

Bloggers Behaving Well: Media Lizzy and Joshua Claybourn both have some nice things to say about Mrs. Thompson, who is apparently as talented as she is attractive.

Daily Kos Behaving Badly!

I'm honestly surprised it took this long. Daily Kos has worked themselves up into a frenzy over the Scooter Libby commutation (Ed. Note: We here at BBB try not to weigh in on one side of a debate or another, we just like to point out ridiculousness). Most recently, arguing frantically that Bush's commutation is not at all equivalent to Bill Clinton's pardons.

Whether or not Bush's commutation, which seems designed to cover his own ass, is equivalent to Clinton's pardoning his brother, terrorists, and some criminal who gave him a ton of money; we don't see enough of a difference to get in such a tizzy. Looks like a bunch of old white guys abusing their power. Given the way this is playing out, you'd think democrats and republicans could get together on this one.
